Volunteer

It takes many hands to put on a show. Here are some volunteer opportunities that will earn you a pass to see the show and help make The Wizard of Oz a successful experience.

Poster Hangers – Volunteers needed to hang posters in business windows in Newport, Priest River, and surrounding areas. Volunteer to hang posters in your neck of the woods.

Make up Helpers - Help with Make up and/or hair during dress rehearsals and performances. Don’t worry if you’ve never done make up before, we’ll teach you how.

Stage Parents – One or two volunteers per show to be backstage to help keep the cast quiet and orderly. Only volunteer for this if you love children in large groups and can motivate with love and encouragement. .

Set up and Clean up – Two volunteers per show to help set up chairs, wipe restrooms, clean up and put away make up tables before the show. After the show, straighten the chairs and pick up any trash and extra programs, empty trash cans, wipe restroom and get the theater ready for the next performance.

Ushers – Four volunteers per show to hand out programs and fill out surveys.

Refreshments – One or two volunteers per show. Assist in setting up and cleaning up the refreshment table – coffee, punch and cookies.

Refreshment Donations - We are in need of cookie bakers for our refreshment table. Sign up to bring a double batch of cookies.  There is no performance pass offered for this but  50% of refreshment donations go into the POPA scholarship fund to help our high school seniors toward college expenses. So, help us out with this good cause.

Raffle sales – One or two volunteers per performance. Sit at the raffle table and sell tickets.

Set Strike – After the final performance, Assist in taking down and storing the set pieces.

Cast Party – Organize and set up the food for the cast party at the Playhouse and then organize the clean up following the party. If you are interested in helping with the cast party but not organizing please let us know.
