Rehearsal Schedule Clarification - Don't be confused

Everyone should plan on being at all rehearsals. The Blocking Rehearsal schedule lets you know what I hope to accomplish at each rehearsal, but even if you don't see your scene or your song on that rehearsal I still will have plans to for you to rehearse something important.

As an example:
Our Blocking Rehearsal schedule says
30 Tues.     Choreograph: Munchkinland thru first Ding Dong
Music: Solos LIon, Scarecrow, Tinman  Chorus: Munchkinland, Yellow Brick Road, Merry Old
        Block: 1/8 & 9 (lines only)
5:30 w/Dee Ann- Scarecrow, Dorothy, Crows - If I Only Had a Brian
My plan for rehearsal tomorrow looks like this:
  • Music: Marty will work on solos and girls chorus. After Break - work with Munchkins, Osians and Winkies.
  • Aunt Em , Uncle Henry, Dorothy, Zeke, Hunk, Hickory, Miss Gultch work on lines and timing. Goal is to off book by for scenes 1 - 4 by Thursday.
  • Mayor, Barrister, City Fathers, Coroner work on their munchkin parts with Clerisa
  • Munchkins and Dancers continue working on Munchkinland scene through first Ding Dong
  • Block Scenes 8 & 9
  • 5:30 rehearsal - Crows, Dorothy, Scarecrow - If I Only Had a Brain

See even if you are not specifically listed on the Blocking Rehearsal Schedule, I still have plans for you. So, check your rehearsal schedule and be ready to work on whatever is listed and to review what we have already worked on.

See you Tuesday and Thursday at the Playhouse,
Dee Ann

Fantastic Auditions!!!

Greetings Osians,

So many people have been asking me how auditions went and I tell them about the amazing group of actors that worked so hard last Thursday and gave us a great day of auditions. We were so impressed by your talent and positive attitudes. This is going to be a wonderfully fun show - because you all are involved.

This is how Rehearsal this week will go:
Announce cast and get right into rehearsal. So fasten your seatbelts, from now on we are riding the cyclone to Oz.

I know that it's hard to wait until Thursday to find out what part you are getting - but wait you must - so be patient, fill your days with fun summer things and come on Thursday with a good attitude ready to rehearse.

Don't forget that we start rehearsal on Thursday at 3:30.

If You have read this post please leave a comment in the comment section, like "got it", so I know that you were here.

See you soon,
Dee Ann

Great First Rehearsal and Audition Reminders

Hi Oz-ites,

We had a great first rehearsal. It was so good to see so many old friends and lots of new faces. I'll say it again - I'm so glad this is a musical. Your singing was wonderful and I'm looking forward to hearing all of you at auditions.

Here is what you can expect at auditions:
  1. When you come in be sure and read through the audition pages on the wall and make any corrections to your audition form.
  2. We will start with some vocal warm ups.
  3. Then we will audition those interested in Chorus only. This group will sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star in small groups.
  4. Next we will listen to If I Only Had a Brain solos. (If you are a girl and want to audition for the Scarecrow, Lion, Tinman and audition for one of the female roles,  prepared to sing both audition songs)
  5. We will end the vocal auditions with the Somewhere Over the Rainbow solos.
  6. Quick Break and Snack
  7. After Break we will hold the reading auditions. This is your chance to read from the script.

Don't stress out about auditions, just enjoy yourself and let us see how much fun you have on stage. Remember there are lots of great parts for everyone in The Wizard of Oz
