Oz Tickets and Rehearsal Info

Hey Oz-ites,

Great rehearsals this week! Yes! we are done blocking Act one (happy dance) and have almost run through all of the scenes at least once.  As we move into blocking Act 2 remember to review, review, review everything that you learned for Act 1. This next month is going to go very quickly and then we will be ready to take our audience to Oz.

Actors Please be reading your parts and reviewing your music in Act 2 so that you are ready to block these scenes. Blocking is much more effective if you are already familiar with that scene.

Here are important things that you and your parents should know. If your parents have not been checking this blog be sure and remind them that they need to read it, too.

Oz Tickets and Punch Cards
Tickets may be purchased online at PendoreillePlayers.org . There is a .50 transaction fee added to online and paypal orders. You may also buy tickets in advance at the box office in the Playhouse. It is important to buy the tickets in advance because seating is reserved.

Th very best deal for tickets is a PUNCH CARD. Here is how it works:

Punch cards are $50 and have six punches on them; card expires one year from purchase date.
Each punch is one adult or two kids tickets. You may use as many punches at a time as you would like. The only restrictions are it must be a POPA performance and it takes two punches for a dinner theater ticket. It is still best to buy your tickets in advance as a punch card does not guarantee a seat. You can bring your punch card in to the box office or reserve your seats by phone, tell them that you have a punch card, and have the card punched when you pick up the tickets.
Lauretta will be selling punch cards at rehearsals and will take checks or cash. You may also buy them at the PLayhouse. If you have any questions about tickets or punch cards, ask Lauretta.

Parents, Don't forget to purchase a Break-a-Leg messages for the program.
Break-a-leg Wishes
Parents, send a message in the program to your favorite actor. Tell them they’re fantastic, that you’re proud of them, that you love them and to break a leg! Only $5 buys you a space to fill with two or three lines of love. Email your Break-a-leg messages to Dee Ann at deeann@boydston.us  write Break-a-leg in the subject line. Lauretta Heaney will be collecting the Break-a-leg money.

Volunteer Forms
Still lots of Volunteer opportunities for parents. Be sure and remind your parents to read the Volunteer information on this blog and sign up soon.

Comment on this post to be entered into the drawing for an Oz-ish prize at the cast party.

Have a great weekend! See you all Tuesday,

Time to remind your parents to volunteer

Hi Everyone,

I hope that you all had a great weekend and are ready to jump back over the rainbow this week. We are right on schedule and that is very exciting. Once again, good job all of you who are off book on the scenes that we have been working on. Remember, once we block a scene the next time that we run it you should be mostly, if not completely, off book. The same with the music. It makes it so much easier and much more fun to choreograph a song when you already have it memorized. The Munchkins get the prize for knowing their music.
On Wednesday we will block Scene 13, the last scene of the first Act!!! That means that we are half way through with blocking our show. WhooHoo!

Parent Volunteers
Please remind your parents that if they want to volunteer to help out with any of the performances they need to fill out the Volunteer form and turn it in to Lauretta or to me. There are lots of positions open and we need help in many different areas.  Click on the Volunteer tab at the top of the blog to see the volunteer information.

Remember to leave a comment and let me know that you read this. Each time you leave a comment on a new post I will enter you into a drawing to win something amazingly Oz-ish. Remember that we are back at Sadie Halstead Middle School this week.

Good Job! and Don't Panic!

Hey, Great Rehearsal Today!  Marty and I are so thrilled with the way that you all are learning everything so quickly. Great job Glinda, Witch and Dorothy for being off book in Scene 7.

Now, don't panic if you feel like you can't remember everything that you learned today and at the last few rehearsals. We will go over everything many many times until you can do the steps in your sleep. In the meantime practice every step that you are sure of and be sure to go over the steps to Off to See the Wizard that we just learned today.

There is a new 15% off coupon code for the T shirts that is good until Sept. 25. It is TEEMUGSPROST

See you in Oz!

What's happening in Oz this week?

Hey everyone! Great rehearsal on Thursday. You all worked really hard. I am constantly amazed at how quickly you learn your blocking, music and choreography. Great job those of you in scenes 1-4 who were off book. Munchkins please practice your Munchkinland dances with your CD. Marty says your music is sounding wonderful and you already have lots of it memorized! Keep up the good work.

Don't forget We're off to see the Wizard at Stratton Elementary School this week. We will be in the music room  - Which is off the main hall across from the restrooms and just past the gym. We will use the music room and hopefully be able to branch out into the gym and the hallway if we need to. It will be a little tight but there will be plenty of space to do what we need to do.

First Wednesday rehearsal is this week. We will be working on Scene 5, the twister scene. Dancers, finally we are blocking one of your scenes. Please plan on being there. Others who are in the scene: Dorothy, Em, Henry, Zeke, Hunk, Hickory, Miss Gultch, Grips.  All Wednesday rehearsals will start at 3:15 and run until 5:30, unless we get finished earlier. Check the blocking rehearsal schedule to see if you have any Wednesday rehearsals.

10% off Oz T-shirts: Zazzle is offering 10% off through Oct. 31. The code for that discount is SHAREMEOFFER.

Missoula Children's Theater auditions are on Monday. Of course, I would like you to be at Oz rehearsals but if you do audition for MCT on Monday and are cast, be sure and let us know. It is never Ok to just not show up for rehearsals. You need to let us know if you will be absent.

Are you having trouble leaving comments? Try to update your browser or use another browser. If your computer is older you may not be able to update anymore. If that's the case then just send and email to me letting me know that you "got it".

See you Tuesday at the elementary school,
Dee Ann

Rehearsal updates for September

Hi Everyone,
I hope that you had a great long weekend. Happy first day of school for those who just started.
Here are some updates and reminders for September:
September 8, this coming Thursday, is our first rehearsal at Sadie Halstead Middle School. We will be in the multipurpose room. It's very easy to find - Walk in the front door, take a Left at the wall with the bear on it, walk down the hall  a little and take the first Right. There is usually a soda machine in that hall and there are restrooms right across from the double doors to the multipurpose room.
Rehearsals still start at 3:15. If you are going to be late because your school gets out later, please let Clerisa know.
Don't forget to bring your own snack. We will have an opportunity to eat before rehearsal. Once we start rehearsal we will not take a snack break. For those of you that homeschool, be sure and eat a good snack before you come so that you will have energy to take you through rehearsal.
Bring your own water bottle. Be sure and mark it with your name. No sharing water bottles and we would like you to not use the drinking fountain if you can help it.
Next week, September 12 - 17th, is Missoula Children's Theater. We will have rehearsals at Stratton Elementary ( just down the street from the middle school) in the Music Room.
If you are planning on auditioning for Missoula Children's Theater, you must let me know!

Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tinman, Lion please plan on skipping Missoula this year.
Wednesday Rehearsals: Our first Wednesday rehearsal is next week on September 14. We will be blocking the Twister scene with: dancers, Dorothy, Em, Henry, Zeke, Hunk, Hickory, Miss Gultch, Grips.  All Wednesday rehearsals will start at 3:15 and run until 5:30, unless we get finished earlier. Check the blocking rehearsal schedule to see if you have any Wednesday rehearsals.

On my previous post I posted some new discount codes for OZ  T-shirts. Scroll down a little and you will find the post.

Remember to leave a comment and let me know that you were here and received all of this amazingly important information. (No I'm not yelling at you. I'm just stressing this point in a very loud way )

You all are amazing! See you on Thursday,
Dee Ann
